PHOENIX -- An Arizona man is facing an aggravated assault charge after authorities say he branded his then-girlfriend's genitals with his initials.

KTVK-TV reports that court documents show that Christopher Jackson was arrested earlier this month after his former girlfriend came forward to tell police.

According to court papers, the Chandler resident took his girlfriend to a baseball game in May then gave her what he said were energy pills.

The woman said she then woke up with a pain between her legs and discovered that Jackson had branded his initials "C" and "J" on her genitals.

She said she waited to tell authorities because she was scared of her ex-boyfriend.

Investigators said they later found a branding tool and butane torch in Jackson's house.

It was not known if he had an attorney.
