PHOENIX — Gilbert police officers and firefighters are lacing up and stepping out on the ice Saturday for a charity hockey game to benefit the families of the fallen Granite Mountain Hotshots.
Residents of the southeast community seem to agree that this is a great way to show support for the victims’ families.
“Anytime you have firefighters or police officers who die in the line of duty, it impacts everyone,” said Michael Powell, a Gilbert resident.
The public is invited to attend the game between the Gilbert Guns and the Gilbert Hoses at Polar Ice in Gilbert. The game begins at noon.
Admission is free, but attendees are encouraged to leave a cash donation. All proceeds will go to the 100 Club of Arizona
