PAGE, Ariz. -- The entry road to Lees Ferry will be under construction for the next six months.

The $6.5 million project to replace the road surface, improve drainage and reduce erosion starts Monday.

Crews will be working along six miles of roadway from U.S. 89A to an area where vehicles park and boats are launched on the Colorado River.

Officials at the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area said the road will be reduced to a single lane during the work week. Visitors should expect delays of up to 30 minutes.

A ranger station, campground, dump station and other facilities will be accessible during construction. The project is expected to wrap up in early September.
