Mesa teenagers will soon have another option to consider when it comes time to register for school.
BASIS, a charter middle and high school, announced plans in a Tuesday release for a new campus in Mesa’s Eastmark community, near Mesa-Gateway Airport.
“BASIS is our first 5-12 educational partner and a perfect fit for this community. Eastmark’s central location in the East Valley will give hundreds of children more opportunities to earn a world-class education, which is a tremendous value for kids, their families and our region’s future workforce,” said Dea McDonald, Senior Vice President of DMB Associates and General Manager of Eastmark in the release.
BASIS said the school will open to serve grades five through 10 in fall of 2013. Grade 11 will be added by 2014 and grade 12 will follow in 2015. The addition of kindergarten through fourth grades is being considered.
BASIS has eight schools in the Valley, all of which are highly ranked by the state of Arizona.
