A hiker who had been missing in the Superstition Mountains has been found.

Robin Byrd, 51, was taken to a local hospital early Thursday morning. The search and rescue team from Pinal County Sheriff's Office found Byrd, missing since Tuesday afternoon, on the Bluff Springs Trail.

She is expected to recover.

This is not the first time Byrd has gotten lost in the Superstitions. In December, she required another search effort. She told authorities she'd been looking for the legendary Lost Dutchman's gold mine.

    If this is the
second time she needed to be rescued, time to start charging her full price for these rescues because obviously she hasn't learned her lesson and probably won't.

    Stupid Motorist Law.........
needs to be extended to include stupid hikers - and trailheads should have signs warning the inexperienced to turn back if they don't have GPS, water, pistol (for snakes, wild animals and strange people lurking behind the cactus- and other gear too) I've hiked in the Superstitions and it's not for the novice or faint of heart - or like a walk in the neighborhood park.

Let's not have a 'stupid hiker law'
Let's call it the "Byrd-brain Hiker Law' - charge her!

    The only problem with
the stupid hiker, even if they took a gps, they wouldn't tag their start location and wouldn't know how to get back.
