NOGALES, Ariz. — Federal authorities say a Mexican woman has been arrested for allegedly trying to smuggle black tar heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine into southern Arizona.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the Nogales Port took 34-year-old Reyna Gisela Ramirez-Hernandez into custody Friday.

She's from Hermosillo, Sonora.

CBP officials say her van was referred for additional inspection and a CBP narcotics detection canine alerted to the presence of drugs within the vehicle's firewall-dash area.

Authorities say about $233,000 worth of black tar heroin, cocaine and methamphetamine were discovered.

The drugs and vehicle were seized and Ramirez-Hernandez was turned over to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement's Homeland Security Investigations.
