Police: Intruder in west Phoenix shooting dies

PHOENIX — According to Phoenix police, a homeowner in west Phoenix shot one of three men who he claimed broke into his house on Friday morning.
The injured intruder, 16-year-old Mario Barcenas, was transported to a Phoenix area hospital shortly after the incident. While Barcenas was initially reported to be in extremely critical condition, Sgt. Tommy Thompson of the Phoenix Department announced in a statement Friday night that he died of injuries sustained during the shooting.
Thompson noted that the investigation is still on-going, as the identity of the other suspects is still unknown.
No charges have been filed at this time.
