74-year-old Gilbert man arrested for robbery

GILBERT -- Authorities say a 74-year-old man is in custody for allegedly robbing a fast-food restaurant in Gilbert.

Gilbert police say James Richard Miletta is jailed on $48,000 bond.

They say the Gilbert man allegedly walked into a Burger King restaurant about 3 p.m. Wednesday and told the cashier he was having a bad day.

Miletta allegedly was brandishing a handgun and demanded the money in the register.

Police say the cashier complied and Miletta left the business with an undisclosed amount of money.

Witnesses told police that Miletta drove away and officers pulled him over minute later and he was arrested without incident.

Police say the handgun was recovered along with the stolen money stolen.

Authorities didn't immediately know Thursday if Miletta has a lawyer yet.
