PHOENIX -- Former Arizona Diamondbacks television analyst Mark Grace will serve his DUI prison sentence in Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio's Tent City.

"It's only fair," Arpaio said. "You treat everybody the same. Under the same circumstances, people go into the tents. I've had other celebrities in the tents, so I think it's only a fairness issue. I'm sure he'll understand."

Arpaio said he will make sure other inmates do not start problems with Grace.

"I feel very comfortable that he won't have any problems living in the tents."

Grace was sentenced to four months in jail after pleading guilty Thursday to felony endangerment and misdemeanor driving under the influence of alcohol.

A Maricopa County Superior Court spokesman said Grace will be allowed out of jail for work while he serves the sentence beginning Feb. 10.

Court spokesman Vincent Funari says the sentence also includes two years of probation.

The 48-year-old former first baseman with the Diamondbacks and the Chicago Cubs was fired after he was arrested last August in Scottsdale -- his second drunken driving arrest in 15 months.

Grace had pleaded not guilty in October to four felony counts of aggravated DUI and was scheduled to go on trial March 19.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

    This non justice system ,,,,,,
gets older and older. Work release? At Mcdonalds? Just like Lohan. The justice system is for the wealthy. Anyone who convicts a "Joe Blow" for anything is nuts. If called to jury duty, just explain that if picked, you won't convict anyone of anything as long as Lohan is allowed on the streets thanks to crooked judges and lawyers. Same goes for this guy.

    The Worst Part
His kids are getting the shaft due to their idiotic dad that has a drinking problem and doesn't want to come clean. Imagine them trying to go to school and all of the kids knowing where he is. As for work, I don't know what he's going to be doing during the day but I can't imagine it's much. He's no longer part of the DBacks, so his options are limited.

    I give Mr Grace credit..
..for taking complete responsibility for his actions. I do not approve of drinking and driving. When asked about being fired, he didn't have any hard feelings, said he got himself in this mess and no one else. He plead guilty, how often does that happen today? When most deny and make excuses, he's not. More people should take responsibility for their actions instead of always blaming others. He knows he has a problem, he knows it's an embarrassment to his family, he's not making excuses, He's human, humans make mistakes and are not perfect. Hope this is a step in the road to recovery.

    WORK RELEASE !`
And just what kind of work does this guy do? I wouldn't think this guy had a days work in him after being in the baseball business. What exactly does he do at this "WORK" How come they tell us that? His family has enough money. If it were a case where they were struggling day to day I could see it but this is stupid !
