TUCSON -- The U.S. Marshals Service and Pima County sheriff's deputies say they have arrested a fugitive wanted for months in connection with a fatal shooting in the Tucson area.

Authorities say detectives had been monitoring a vehicle that they believed was being used by Carlos Zacarias. They positively identified the 29-year-old man during a traffic stop Wednesday.

Zacarias was taken into custody and booked into the Pima County jail on several outstanding felony warrants, including one stemming from the shooting death of Gray Eagle Joseph Ortiz last August.
