SIERRA VISTA, Ariz. -- The top Army general at Fort Huachuca is turning over command of the Sierra Vista base to report for duty in Afghanistan.

Maj. Gen Greg Potter has been head of both Fort Huachuca and the Intelligence Center of Excellence located there for two years.

The Sierra Vista Herald reported that Potter will be deputy chief of staff of intelligence for the International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan.

He'll be swapping assignments with Maj. Gen. Robert P. Ashley Jr.

Ashley will report to Fort Huachuca in April to assume the command of the Intelligence Center of Excellence and Fort Huachuca.

In the meantime, Col. Roger Sangvic will temporarily assume the Arizona commands.
