PHOENIX -- Phoenix police said they believe one man is responsible for at least 13 armed robberies in the Phoenix area in the past two months.

Police describe the man as Hispanic, between 19 and 35 years old, about 5-foot-5 tall and weighing 140 to 180 pounds. They said he wears a hoodie, a baseball cap and sunglasses and is armed with a handgun.

They've dubbed the robber the "calligraphy bandit" because he presents a handwritten note demanding a type of painkiller.

Police said the suspect may have used two possible vehicles. One is a dark grey Dodge Stratus, and the other is a 1980s single-cab pickup truck.

The robberies started Nov. 12 and continued through Jan. 15.

    for someone fitting this description, male, Hispanic, 5'5", 19-35 years of age, wouldn't that still be profiling? I mean, there must be more than one Hispanic male out there that fits this description. So in order to find the correct suspect, all suspects fitting the "profile" must be considered as possible suspects. What's a LEO to do?

Cops need to their job and perform constitutional policing, not fear based, driving while brown investigations.

    so it's a possibility. I wouldn't necessarily say that all citizens that are in favor of laws against illegal immigration should be classified as Hispanic haters. There are many citizens, regardless of skin color or nationality, that just want to see the laws enforced and have all immigrants who come into the country follow the same set of rules to get visas, and/or US citizenship. But, it's too easy to pull the racial profiling card when it's in your favor or best interest.
