A National Rifle Association board member said he will not back an Arizona bill designed to limit federal gun control.

According to Salon.com, Todd Rathner said House Bill 2291 could put a lot of pressure on Arizona gun dealers.

"I worry about putting federal firearms licensees in the middle of a fight between us and the federal government," he said. "It puts them between a rock and a hard place because they worry about committing a federal crime or a state crime."

According to Talking Points Memo, House Bill 2291 would make it a felony for an federal employee to enforce federal laws on firearms and ammunition that are produced in Arizona and stay in Arizona.

The bill would also make any new federal laws restricting semi-automatic firearms and magazines, or requiring any form of firearm registration, unenforceable in Arizona.

The bill may not pass, but Arizona Republicans said it is intended to send a message to both the president and Congress. Rathner said he supports the message the bill sends.

Other states, such as Mississippi, Texas and Tennessee are considering similar bills.

    Thank you,
for sending the message we will no longer accept anymore infringements of the 2nd Amendment. Oh, by the way, it not about hunting, target shooting or even personal self defense, it about tyranny. Educate yourself. Knowledge equals power, lack of knowledge is the definition of the word ignorant. Your choice.

Living in a Society of Fear
As much of America holds a death grip on their guns, we should be asking why we are so dependent on the idea of protecting ourselves and from what? We live in a post-9/11 society in which fear is bred 24 hours a day through television and media. Other countries with similar social structures such as the UK don’t have this problem and don’t have guns in the hands of every man, woman and child. trigger locks
Obama likes to spend money and trigger locks are inexpensive so why doesnt the government provide free trigger locks for every gun sale and for any one who has guns? That in itself will protect kids. and provide for free to everyone in America gun safety classes. we could be educated and safe ....

    Me, I just upset
That the government wont let buy an M1 Abrams tank with quad 50s to protect myself from fellow Tea Party members. I mean why wont they let me protect myself. How dare them infringe on the Second. This is all tongue in cheek, of course, and to anyone with common sense would know this would be overkill. So the question is, are semiautomatic assault weapons too much?

    Shall not be infringed
Everyone needs to grow up. Stop arguing and understand that the 2nd amendment was about our gun government taking liberty's away from the people. I can't believe the crap I hear from both sides. If you trust our government 100% then let gun control laws pass. If you don't them fight it. It really is that simple. As long as we all are busy fighting the semantics government gets their way.

    Our Violent Societies Ways
I see it this way. If our law enforcement officers have to carry firearms to protect themselves against thugs, then the citizens should carry the same. Some people feel insecure, they have witnessed, or have been a victim of violence, that is why they carry firearms. That is the only reason someone would own a firearm, to kill another human being, of evil intent.
