TEMPE, Ariz. -- A car collided with a train in downtown Tempe on Thursday morning, closing University Drive west of Mill Avenue in both directions.

The driver of the car suffered non life-threatening injuries. Tempe Police said the driver went around the crossing gates at Ash Avenue.

The street closure lasted a couple of hours.
