A 25-year-old man walked on to a Mesa high school campus Wednesday and assaulted four ROTC students.

According to the Mesa Police Department, Ceaser Ruben Meraz, a former student of Mesa High School, attacked the students around 6:40 a.m.

The school resource officer was informed about the incident as he arrived to start his work hours and immediately located and detained Meraz, who admitted to assaulting the students.

Meraz was cited for the altercation. He was released, but was later taken back into custody and charged.

the building. (Sorry hit wrong button).... Next, thankfully he did not have a gun. If he did, then even with an armed school resources officer, he would have been able to do some serious damage. Finally, I think it is important to keep in mind that our schools need to be secured. Only authorized people should be allowed to enter the school. Consider, yet again, that we spend much more money to keep an inmate in jail than we do to educate and protect our children. Until this stops, losers like Ceaser will graduate with sub-par educations and continue this sort of desperate action.
