PHOENIX -- Federal immigration officials said they're releasing the mother of an immigration activist after the mother and another relative were arrested at the family's Phoenix-area home.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement also said it did not target the relatives of activist Erika Andiola because of her role with the DREAM Act Coalition.

Andiola said ICE agents said there was a long-pending deportation order for her mother but that she questioned whether that prompted the arrest.

The mother and a brother of Andiola were arrested Thursday evening. The brother was released early Friday, while the mother was transported to an immigration detention center in Florence.

Another brother said the family has been told by the Mexican consulate in Mexico that the mother would be released after being returned to Phoenix.

Why do they get to stay? How about a real, true answer that don't contradict political agenda. Also as for below, leave other issues out of it. That’s the problem. People keep trying to intertwine multiple issues. By know you should know government cant think that hard.

Also, I like the sign in the first picture
"Stop separating our families"....can't anyone being incarcerated make the same claim? Don't send daddy to jail for not paying taxes....it is not our fault your family includes illegal immigrants! Get the f out!

    So the sign
that says "Family Unity is a Human Right", tell that to the legal citizen child who's legal citizen parents are divorced and that kid loses that human right! Why aren't they fighting for parents not to get divorced if they truely believe family unity is a human right? And no one is stopping deported families from being united, you might just have to do that in the country your family came from, might have to visit or relocate to Britain or Russia or France or Estonia or wherever.

Everyone wanting for the mother to be deported should look at themselfs, First of you were lucky to born on american soil but you didnt do anything to earn the right to be a legal resident, second all you white cracks are European-Americans dont forget where you come from and what you europena-americans did to the africans and the native indians. so when if want this lady to be deported look back at your history and ask your self What did i do to earn the right to be an American. Most of you did nothing but pop out on american soil.

    Next
time anyone is arrested for the crimes they did, they can cite this fiasco. And further stories should be titled Illegal immigrant rights, immigrants already have earned the rights.
