A 10-year-old boy was abandoned for a short time by his mother during a human smuggling arrest on Thursday, the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office said in a release.

The boy was in a van with 12 other people when MCSO deputies attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver fled a short distance at a high rate of speed before coming to a halt. The driver, another passenger and the boy's mother attempted to flee on foot. All were quickly apprehended.

Deputies learned 12 people, all Mexican nationals, had paid a smuggler between $1,400 and $4,000 each to be smuggled into the country. Their final destinations were scattered across the country.

Ten suspected illegal immigrants were booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail. Three, including the boy and his mother, were turned over to Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.

    What is really sad
is that all of those supporters of illegal immigrants - you know, seeking a better life - must fail to realize that the illegals send money back to Mexico to have other family members smuggled in. This will never stop until one of two things happen: a high profile politician is killed or a family member killed by an illegal immigrant or the people of this country DEMAND changes to our enforcement policy.

The supporters of illegal immigrants can't be bothered with facts and details. They are far too concerned about who will take care of their yard work, clean their house, or serve them a fast food lunch should the source/flow of cheap labor be stopped.

    And heaven forbid
these supporters are far too advanced to do any of the work that this cheap labor does for them. Be darned if they'll get their hands dirty.
