TUCSON, Ariz. -- A new report shows the U.S. Border Patrol's Tucson sector remains the busiest along the U.S. Mexican border but concludes the agency hasn't set goals to improve security.

The report from the General Accountability Office also said the agency doesn't accurately access risks and needs when it deploys officers.

Rep. Ron Barber asked the GAO to look at the Border Patrol and review its security strategy and its resource needs.

The review found a 6 percent dip in apprehensions border-wide between 2008 and 2011. But the Tucson sector accounted for 38 percent of all drug seizures and 37 percent of all apprehensions despite covering just 13 percent of the area.

Barber plans community meetings in Douglas and Tucson late this month to discuss the report's findings.

    we can discuss
all we want, but the fact remains that the Tucson sector is weak. Why not put the veterans that don't have a job on the border and lets see how that works. I don't care if they are two feet from each other, they will be working and the border will be secure. If you want security, then make it secure. But the fact that Tucson is the weakest link in all this tells the story. LIBERALS...........

    Why is AZ the weakest?
Well the Feds don't like AZ and it's freedom loving legal citizens who are willing to take a stand to protect the country, the Constitution and not rely on the Feds to take care of them. Weird that some how the weakest part of the border is here.
