Former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords, right, in red, and husband Mark Kelly, center, shaved head, meet with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, left, red tie.

Former Arizona Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband, former astronaut Mark Kelly, reportedly met privately Wednesday with New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg to discuss gun control.

According to ABC News, the meeting lasted for about one hour.

Bloomberg, a long-time proponent of stricter gun control laws, sent investigators to an Arizona gun show to see how easy it was to purchase guns in the state after Giffords was shot.

In February 2012, Bloomberg appeared on NBC's "Meet the Press" expressing anger over the fact that the Giffords shooting hadn't sparked a national dialogue about gun laws. "You'd think that if a congresswoman got shot in the head, that would have changed Congress' views," said Bloomberg, who founded the group Mayors Against Illegal Guns in 2006.

It was also reported that Giffords and Kelly will visit Newtown, Conn. on Friday where nearly 30 people were killed inside an elementary school.

    Bloomberg is a traitor and
so is any other public official that took an oath of office, stating they would protect and uphold the Constitution. By attacking the 2nd Amendment, which is part of the Constitution they are violating their oath and committing treason. End this non-sense now. The Illinois gun ban just failed, when will they learn. It's sad, the politician knows gun control is about control, not guns, while the public believes gun control is about guns, not control.

Oh now, thats funny. The article struck me as nonsense, as well, as I read about the idea of a dramatic summit meeting with a former astronaut and a former AZ state legislator to apparently brainstorm the highly complex prospect of gun legislation in New York. Of course every time we see Gabby, our heart aches a little, so I dont suppose this has more to do with photo op propoganda with ABC than any intellectual discourse . . . .

No disrespect towards Gabrielle Giffords and Mark Kelly but how bout sitting down with Goobernor Brewer and anybody else they want to, and have a discussion on the poor quality of Mental Health Services, and, the inability of mental health services to report patients with mental illness per HIPAA restrictions. It was a mental patient that was rejected for mental health assistance that pulled the trigger on those guns. It was a rejected mental health patient that killed 20 people. Address the real problem of neglecting mentally ill people!
