I'm SURPRISED that this made it
onto the news at all !!! A story like this clearly does not fit into the current "agenda" that the liberal left wing biased media has in it's stance towards disarming the public, but I'm glad SOMEBODY at KTAR decided to let the story run......

Good thing it was a slow news day....
Geez! Where are all the 'gun-banners' now? They don't want anyone to have a gun unless THEY are the ones that need saving. The outcome saves some hard-earned (as in, they have a JOB and aren't out thievin') taxpayer funds as well.

    This is so weird
that the media wouldn't want to bring this up. I mean they are not biased at all to the socialist agenda our President has. They would never push the agenda to disarm law abiding civilians so a socialist dictator could take over. Never!

The gun issue isn't with home defense weapons
I suppose a lot of people use AK-47s for home defense. Oh wait, no, they don't... they use pistols and shotguns. The story doesn't say, but I'm assuming he shot the intruder with a weapon that it was intended for.

    New Mandatory Please !
I think it should be mandatory for every father, or mother, who's competent and having enough common sense, to have a gun to defend their family in their house. I'm not sure, but wondering would also having a sign posted near the front/back doors and stickers on all the windows, like those ADT/other security decals, would be a good idea in addition. Like to see who's willing to break in then. If you're going to argue the "common sense" here then don't bother, because you don't have one ... period !

"The gun issue isn't with home defense weapons," actually you absolutely wrong, if I need to defend my home, I have semi-auto guns for that and that's what the gun issue is, that and magazines larger than 10 rounds. Oh and fyi, those rifles that look like something the military and terrorists uses that the media and president label assault weapons, they don't work anywhere close to how the military do. They work the same way as many hunting rifles but just have a more aggressive look. Learn a little about guns.

tracerm17 Here is an educational link
explaining home defense weapons. It should be useful to note that of all the annual gun related injuries or deaths in the USA, less than 300 have anything to do with long guns. http://modernronintraining.blogspot.com/2013/01/home-defense-guns-epilogue.html

    Most of the anti-gun liberals
Will stay away from this thread. Those that oppose "Stand Your Ground" laws and the 2nd amendment that gave this father a right to protect his daughter. These gun grabbing liberals think it's best for the father to retreat and wait several minutes for the cops to show up to take a police report. Or they feel the father should have to engage in hand to hand combat "like a real man" to protect his daughter. They'll save their whiny, redundant, "Gun Nut" filled tirades for another story.
