Whooping cough cases on the rise in Arizona

An outbreak of whooping cough across the country means Arizona cases are on the rise too.
Last year, over 800 cases of pertussis, commonly called whooping cough, were documented in Arizona. So far this year, we’ve already seen 600.
Dr. Kara Christ, a Valley disease specialist, said babies are most at risk.
“Especially those under one, or those that haven’t been vaccinated,” she said.
