Tucson officer leaves hospital with bullet in head

TUCSON, Ariz. -- A Tucson police officer has been released from the hospital four weeks after being shot in the head while responding to a burglary call.
Tucson police said Sgt. Robert Carpenter, 46, was discharged from the hospital Wednesday.
They said the 12-year veteran will continue outpatient physical therapy and rehabilitation with the goal of returning to work within six months.
The Arizona Daily Star reported that police officials said the bullet remains lodged in Carpenter's brain
The 46-year-old Carpenter and other officers were responding to a midtown burglary call on Nov. 18 when he was struck in the head by a bullet.
A suspect was arrested in connection with the break-in, but hasn't been charged in the shooting.
