TUCSON, Ariz. -- Authorities say human skeletal remains have been found in Tucson near Interstate 10.

Pima County Sheriff's officials say a state Department of Corrections work crew discovered the adult remains in a shallow grave Tuesday afternoon.

The prison crew was working in the desert near a landfill in the area of I-10 and Craycroft Road.

DOC officials called the sheriff's department to respond to the scene.

Sheriff's detectives say they are investigating the discovery.
