PHOENIX -- Retiring U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl is being praised for serving Arizona for more than a quarter century.
Kyl spent nearly 18 years in the Senate after being a congressman for eight years.
In a speech Tuesday on the Senate floor in Washington, fellow Republican Sen. John McCain praised ``tireless work ethic.''
McCain called Kyl ``a senator's senator'' who ``prefers accomplishments to acclaim.''
McCain also praised Kyl for ``his unflappable patience, his careful attention to detail, his determination to be fair to all parties involved and to achieve results that are in the best interests of Arizona.''
