Man on scooter run over in Tucson, dies

TUCSON, Ariz. -- Authorities said a man riding a scooter is dead after being run over by a truck.
Pima County Sheriff's officials identified the victim as Perry P. Rubinelli, 56.
They said he was struck by a pickup truck around 5:15 a.m. Tuesday on the city's southwest side.
Authorities said Rubinelli, for unknown reasons, had locked up his brakes and was lying in the road. The driver of the pickup tried to swerve to avoid Ribinelli, but it was too late.
Ribinelli was wearing a helmet and gloves.
Authorities said speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident.
