Two Connecticut high school teachers received a note, albeit a brief one, from President Barack Obama on Sunday night.
According to Yahoo! Sports, the Newtown High School employees, Steve George and Bobby Pattison, left a note for Obama on the white board in the school's football locker room before he arrived to speak at a memorial service for the victims of Sandy Hook Elementary School.
The note read, "Dear President Obama, The Newtown community is so thankful that you are coming to help us heal. In times of adversity it is reassuring to know that we have a strong leader to help us recover." The teachers then signed their names.
Obama noticed the message and responded. In his response, the president simply said, "You're in our thoughts and prayers," before signing his name.
