Unsanitary conditions found at Kingman school
KINGMAN, Ariz. -- Mohave County health inspectors found live roaches and unsanitary conditions at an elementary school in Kingman.
The Kingman Daily Miner reported that the kitchen at La Senita Elementary was given a rating of "needs improvement" during a Dec. 10 inspection.
Inspectors want the school to deal with the insects, remove all cardboard from the kitchen, deep clean all surfaces, caulk around all wallboards and sinks and replace the counter for tray return.
A follow-up inspection is scheduled for Friday.
Kingman Unified School District food services director Paula Loomis said the district's schools normally get excellent ratings and that the problems at La Senita were being addressed.
