TUCSON, Ariz. — Tucson police say a 22-year-old woman has died after the driver of a large SUV made a left turn in front of her Jeep and the two vehicles hit nearly head-on.

Police spokeswoman Sgt. Maria Hawke says the driver of the Lincoln Navigator who caused the wreck may have been under the influence of alcohol but no arrests have yet been made. That driver and a passenger in the SUV were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The woman killed in the accident early Saturday morning at a west Tucson intersection has been identified as Mandie Scammell.
