A Friday gun scare put a Gilbert, Ariz. high school on lockdown for a short time, police said.

Williams Field High School was placed on lockdown after a parent alerted police that a student may have been carrying a rifle. Police responded quickly, but found no evidence of a weapon.

The 30-minute lockout was lifted about 4:45 p.m.
