FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- A winter storm that left widespread rain and snow in Arizona moved east Friday, while a second storm was ready to roll in Saturday.

The National Weather Service says Flagstaff received up to 7 inches of snow by Friday afternoon and could get another 3 inches to 6 inches overnight and into Saturday. In Forest Lakes northwest of Payson, 19 inches of snow was on the ground.

The storm brought heavy rain the Phoenix area, with more than an inch reported at locations in Scottsdale. Tucson got more than an inch of rain and up to a foot of snow was expected on Mount Lemmon by the end of Friday.

The state's major roadways remained open during this storm, though authorities reported multiple slide-offs.
