Sorting facilities around the Valley are gearing up for a long Monday.
A convoy of about 75 trucks set out from a FedEx warehouse in Scottsdale Monday morning to deliver around 12,000 packages.
FedEx expects to move 19 million packages through its network — a 10 percent jump from last year. The volume has nearly doubled since 2005. FedEx said it will have handled some 280 million shipments between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Green Monday is considered the best sales day in December for online retailers. Many are offering special deals, such as Walmart, which is cutting prices on a number of items, including the Xbox 360.
