The Mesa Police Department is looking to hire over a dozen new officers.
“Anytime you’re dealing with — and I’ll describe it as a business — you have an attrition rate and we just try to keep up with that so that we can keep our roads fully staffed, our districts fully staffed and so that we can stay on top of crime,” said Mesa Police Sgt. Steven Berry.
Starting Dec. 7, the department will be accepting 400 applications for police officer recruits. According to the city, the process is on a first-come, first-serve basis and will close after receiving those 400 applications.
Information about the application process, physical requirements, salary, and benefits can be found at mesaaz.gov.
