Health, travel, matchmaking: AARP launches dating site
The early-bird special at Denny's may be the place for a few more first dates.
American Association of Retired Persons, best known for offering discounted travel packages and medical insurance, is just hours into the launch of a new online dating channel and dating site for the over-50 crowd.
One-quarter of AARP's membership -- about nine million -- are single and have been asking for a way to meet people.
There is some advice for mature daters -- don't spend the first date talking only about kids, grandkids, or aches and pains.
The popular senior discounts will come into play too. There's a seven-day free trial for signing up, then it's half off for members.
