Police say Phoenix woman stabbed new husband
PHOENIX -- Phoenix police say they have released a woman after she claimed she fatally stabbed her husband in self-defense.
Sgt. Steve Martos says the 49-year-old woman called police Thursday night and told dispatchers she had stabbed her new husband.
Martos says the 43-year-old man argued with the woman's mentally impaired adult son and the argument turned into a physical altercation. During the fight the woman stabbed her husband.
He later died at a hospital.
Police released the woman until they complete their investigation and consult with county prosecutors.
