Teen arraigned in 2 Scottsdale rape cases
PHOENIX -- A not guilty plea has been entered for a teenage boy accused in the sexual assaults of two Scottsdale women last month.
Maricopa County prosecutors said a judge entered the plea on behalf of the 16-year-old defendant Wednesday.
The Chaparral High School student was indicted on 12 counts in the case. That included five sexual assault counts, two attempted sexual assault counts, two kidnapping counts, two burglary counts and one count of attempted voyeurism.
The indictment accuses the juvenile of breaking into the first-floor apartments of two Scottsdale women who lived alone near his home and sexually assaulted them on Oct. 18 and Oct. 24.
Prosecutors said the teen has been charged as an adult in the case and is being held without bond.
