TUCSON, Ariz. — Pima County Sheriff's deputies say they have identified a body that was found inside a burning car in a northwest Tucson neighborhood.

Sheriff's spokesman deputy Tom Peine (Py-NAH) says the body was that of 54-year-old Anthony Walker Patrick Basher. He was from California but Peine did not provide a hometown.

Peine says the man was a friend of the owner of the burned out vehicle.

Deputies were called to the neighborhood the evening of Nov. 9 and found the burning Mercedes-Benz sedan. Fire crews discovered the body after putting out the flames.

The cause of Basher's death and the fire are not yet known.

Peine says the investigation is ongoing.
