PHOENIX — Ticket prices are up by 9 percent for Thanksgiving travel when comparing 2012 to 2011.
Courtney Scott with Travelocity said the average round-trip domestic airfare for turkey day is $386.
Scott called that the price to beat, but said that there are a few ways to save.
“Be flexible with your dates. Leave Thanksgiving morning and return Tuesday, the 27th. That is one of the cheapest combinations of arrival and departure,” she said.
Scott said being flexible with your travel dates can save up to $288.
Another cost cutter is flying into alternative airports, such as Phoenix Mesa Gateway.
