Phoenix Municipal Stadium (Photo: City of Phoenix)

Arizona State University is talking with Phoenix officials about moving its baseball program to a city-owned facility.

Discussions to share a new Chicago Cubs stadium in Mesa fell apart last week.

Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton said ASU President Michael Crow called him shortly after those talks ended.

ASU is trying to find a new baseball venue to replace Packard Stadium.

Possible available sites include Phoenix Municipal Stadium, which is less than four miles from campus.

The stadium is the spring training home of the Oakland Athletics and was home to the San Francisco Giants' Triple A team, the Phoenix Firebirds, for a number of years.

Crow wanted to use it for FREE
ASU is an embarrassment to the state. Crow is a thief and keeper of illegals.

    ASU Baseball
ASU Baseball - Tomorrows Major Leaguers Today. Since 1962 ASU has had more players play in the show than any college baseball program with 101. Texas has 101 but it took them over 110 years to do it and USC leads with 102 but they needed 30 more years than ASU. ASU Baseball better than most minor league teams
