PHOENIX -- One of two suspects in the fatal shooting of an Arizona State University honor student in 2010 has been sentenced to life in prison.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Karen O'Connor sentenced on Wednesday Louis Eugene Harper, 21, for the murder of Zachary Marco, 21.

Harper pleaded guilty last month to first-degree murder and armed robbery.

Tempe police said Marco, who was carrying a cellphone and a laptop, was shot as he was walking home in Oct. 2010. He later died at a Tempe hospital.

Detectives recovered Marco's computer bag and said they found fingerprints from Harper and another suspect, who's yet to be sentenced after pleading guilty to second-degree murder in February.

Harper is eligible for parole after serving 25 years.
