FLORENCE, Ariz. (AP)- Paul Babeu (bab-YOO) has won a second term as Pinal County Sheriff.

Babeu defeated Democrat Kevin Taylor and independent Ty Morgan in Tuesday's general election.

He easily beat three Republicans in the August primary. That came months after Babeu was forced to acknowledge he is gay after stories emerged of a falling out with a former lover and shirtless photos of him on a gay dating website emerged.

The 43-year-old Babeu pulled out of the race for a congressional seat after the news broke.

Taylor runs a security company, but was a part-time sheriff's deputy in Ohio from 1983 to 1986. He moved to Arizona in 1999.

Morgan has worked for the county sheriff's department for the past 17 years.

    The people in this State now have no reason to complain. Re-electing Baboon was the worse thing to do.Him and his " Dream Team " are not what we needed. Pinal county voters have to be the stupidest voters around.

    amazing that all you people of superior intellect could not even come together to get a person elected. What up with that? On a side note, I didn't vote for him or the Dream Team, I'm just tired of the superior intellect people calling the people of Arizona stupid because they didn't vote the way you saw fit. Of course how much intellect does it take to call someone an idiot?
