CHANDLER -- Authorities say a crash that killed a Chandler man last month likely was due to his medical problems.

Chandler police have identified the victim as 49-year-old Stuart Kadel. His badly burned body was discovered in a charred car about 4 a.m. on Oct. 20.

City police and fire crews responded to a car fire call near the entrance to Chandler High School and discovered the vehicle's tires spinning from Kadel's foot being stuck on the accelerator.

The East Valley Tribune (http://bitly.com/YN7qFa) says authorities discovered Kadel's body inside, strapped in by the seatbelt and burned from the waist up.

The Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office noted that Kadel had a couple of medical conditions that likely caused him to lose control of the vehicle before it struck a fence.
