2 suspects arrested in Oro Valley in ATM thefts
TUCSON, Ariz. -- Authorities say two men suspected of stealing ATMs in Maricopa County have been arrested for allegedly trying to steal one of the machines at a southern Arizona bank.
Oro Valley police officers on patrol at 1:40 a.m. Monday say they saw two men attempting to steal an ATM at a Chase Bank.
Both suspects have been booked into the Pima County jail.
They've been identified by police as 46-year-old Gerald Paul Cox and 34-year-old LeVar Coryell Mariner.
Police say Cox is being held on suspicion of theft over $25,000, criminal damage above $10,000, possession of burglary tools and theft of means of transportation.
They say Mariner is being held on suspicion of conspiracy to commit theft over $25,000, conspiracy to commit criminal damage over $10,000 and possession of burglary tools.
