Thursday marked the one-year anniversary of the day that an investigation into the disappearance of Jhessye Shockley began.

On Oct. 11, 2011, officers were called to a Glendale apartment complex where Shockley had been reported missing.

Since her disappearance, her mother, Jerice Hunter, has been arrested twice. Charged once with child abuse, hunter was freed. She was arrested later and charged with the death of her daughter.

Authorities searched a landfill in hopes of finding Shockley's body, but did not find any evidence of her body.
