The Democratic candidate for Maricopa County Sheriff said he is not worried about the Phoenix Law Enforcement Association’s endorsement of the incumbent, Joe Arpaio.
If anything, Paul Penzone feels the endorsement shows a weak link in Arpaio’s campaign.
“You see the sheriff pursuing endorsements to try to solidify his position because he recognizes he can’t keep his job based on his past record anymore,” Penzone told News/Talk 92.3 KTAR’s Karie & Chuck on Tuesday.
Penzone said he has received endorsements from numerous law enforcement agencies, including a group that includes management of the Phoenix Police Department.
