TEMPE, Ariz. — Tempe police say an altercation at a party hosted by four Arizona State University students ended when a young man pulled out a gun and shot three people.

Police spokesman Charles Cobbs says a young man suffered life-threatening injuries and a male and female has lesser injuries.

Cobbs says officers called to the apartment complex early Saturday morning found a large party had been under way in a second-floor apartment. An argument broke out and a young man shot the three victims. He has not been identified by police and was not in custody at midday Saturday.

Cobbs says one of the four female ASU students hosting the party was shot.

    Guns in College
Man, I remember when buying beer at age 18 was the rowdiest thing we did in college. I guess packing heat and inviting thugs over is the new trend. I swear, the young generation has little respect for life and other people. It makes me wonder, when I'm long gone and this generation is in their 50s, will the younger kids be even worse? That's a scary thought.
