PHOENIX - Arizona's voter registration numbers are down heading into the state's primary election next week.

The Secretary of State's Office announced Monday that the state has slightly more than 3.1 million registered voters. That's a decrease of more than 45,000 from the last report in June.

Nearly all of the electorate is divided roughly into thirds, with 1.1 million Republicans, approximately 935,000 Democrats and just more than 1 million independents.

Members of the Libertarian, Green and Americans Elect parties account for about 1 percent of the electorate.

The primary election is Aug. 28.

    Arizona's voter registration
Vote Vote Vote. its not that hard. make voting fun and vote by mail. have a voting party by having your friends/family bring their mail in ballot and every talk about whats on the ballot. Rules are must agree to disagree, bring your tablets, do not mark ballot during the party, can not push your beliefs onto others, state only why you believe in the issue or candidate and have an adult conversation. no debatting is allowed. This must be friendly and everyone must go home in good spirits. yes drink and food is a must. remember it is your fault if you dont vote.
