Resurfacing of SR 87 set to begin Monday

Overnight drivers on State Route 87 in the East Valley will need to plan for extra travel time this week.
Resurfacing work will cause closures on SR 87 from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. between the Loop 202 and Gilbert Road from Monday through Thursday.
Some closures will also be in effect Aug. 27-30 as crews work along the right lanes of the road.
Some daytime lane restrictions will be in effect by mid-September. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in the fall.
