Detective Christopher J. Wilson. (Maricopa County Sheriff's Office)

A Phoenix police officer has been arrested and charged with 10 counts of sexual misconduct with a minor, Police Chief Daniel Garcia announced Wednesday morning.

The charges against Detective Christopher J. Wilson, 43, range from a felony 2 to a felony 6. He was arrested Tuesday night.

The minors are 14 and 17-year-old males.

"The investigation came forth on the courageous acts of a 14-year-old male," Garcia said. "He brought to us allegations of sexual misconduct by our officer. The investigation then revealed a second victim, a 17-year-old male."

Wilson, a 13-year veteran of the department assigned to community relations, has resigned. He is being held without bond. His next scheduled court appearance is Aug. 15.

Garcia called the detective's actions "a disturbing violation of the community trust."

    Actually it doesn't
sound like your typical AZ Republican, it doesn't sound like your typical AZ democrat either. Political view has nothing to do with it. I believe real Americans are starting to wake up and are realizing, that no matter how false of lies told, the political blame game isn't working and people see right through it now. And it's kind of sad that someone has to try and make it about one political side that they disagree with. Oh well, I digress.

    Corruption
It sounds like another prime example of police corruption! Seriously, this is becoming a daily occurence and it's rather disturbing. Are we not able to hire anyone other than liars, cheats, thieves and perverts to "protect and serve" this lovely city? These are just the ones getting caught...imagine how pervasive it really is.

your comment is as STUPID as the previous political one. Using your logic we can trust no police officer, no priest, no politician, no wal-mart emplyee, no MCD employee and nobody doing waht ever YOU do. This is not a good cop, bad cop situation. this is a pervert who unfortunatly is a cop. MOST cops are good hard working people and I would trust them with my property and life any day of the week. cop haters are a JOKE.

    Corruption?
Just imagine how many people this guy has arrested or harrassed in his career. If this is what he was caught with, how many people have been abused by PHX cops that we don't hear about. Republican? C'mon now, that has not one leg to stand on. It's all about abuse of power and feeling untouchable. Or even above the law. Do you think this guy didn't fudge police reports? Make false statements? Imprisoned the innocent? Stole personal property? It just goes to show you how many cops possibly go unnoticed...
