TUCSON, Ariz. - Authorities say a motorcyclist is dead after being struck by a pickup truck pulling out of a private driveway on Tucson's south side.

Tucson police say 31-year-old Clemente Valdez was headed northbound on Country Club Road when he was hit near 46th Street about 5:30 a.m. Friday.

Police say Valdez wasn't wearing a helmet and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

They say speed appears to be a contributing factor in the fatal accident.

The driver and passenger in the truck escaped injury.

    Very Sad!
I'm one of those conservative view/Tea Party type person. When it comes to helmet for bicycle/motorcycle, I'll go with the helmet law to a certain extent - like in the cities. I know it's individual freedoms, but this is common sense back-up by statistics. A rider, no matter how experience or careful he/she may be, is not usually the one at fault ... but who's fault it is doesn't matter when lives are lost. Just my view.
