4 live chickens stolen from food bank in Tucson
TUCSON, Ariz. — Operators of food bank in southern Arizona say four of their live chickens were stolen from their coops.
The Arizona Daily Star reports that the thief cut through a double-fence and left with four of the six Rhode Island hens from Nuestra Tierra Demonstration and Market Garden in Tucson.
Staffers didn't file a crime report.
The chickens were used at the demonstration garden to teach people how to raise egg-laying hens.
The hens were donated to the food bank in February and their eggs were sold at the organization's farmers market.
